Hope of the World Arabic Church, St. Louis
Gamal Gerges was born in Egypt into a Christian family in a Muslim village and grew up in a small Assemblies of God church. He didn’t accept Christ as Savior until his first year of college. He then started preaching the gospel, and God blessed the church in his community and neighboring villages. He finished his B.A. in English and for the next 7 years worked as a teacher. Gamal married his wonderful wife, Amal, in 1993, and they have 3 children, Martina, Merit, and Patrick.
Gamal received a very clear call from God to leave his job and become a full-time minister with the Assemblies of God in Egypt in March 1998. He then went to Bible school and earned a B.A. in Theology, and in 2001 he was ordained with the AG. In 2000, he was appointed to teach at a local Bible school (MEETS); from 2011-2014 he served as Dean of Students; and in 2015 as President. In 2014, Gamal and his family immigrated to the US.
“God has given us hearts to serve our own Muslim neighbors here in the US. My wife and I have a burden and vision for reaching the Arabs in the US for Jesus and pray that God fulfills that through his Holy Spirit. We were commissioned as US Home Missionaries with AGWM in March 2019. This designation will help us complete the vision and task that Jesus called us to many years ago. ” Pastor Gamal Gerges.
